Although the sphinx project was controversial,  the Egyptian Government gave me permission, as an independent photographer from the Sphinx project, to be able to go anywhere I wished in Egypt, night or day during my second expedition.   I spent a few months, alone, in the darkest hours before dawn in these extraordinary temples.   That was incredible!  The Los Angeles office of the Egyptian Tourism Authority and I spent several subsequent years working together promoting tourism to Egypt by sharing my photographs and stories at events and exhibitions.     The L.A. office of the E.T.A.  closed several years ago, sorry to see them go, I appreciated our mutually beneficial friendship.
